Local Big Wheel Goes Hollywood

Ranked as one of the Top 100 toys of all time, the Big Wheel was originally produced in 1969 at the Marx Toy factory in Glen Dale, West Virginia.  It has been reported that the Glen Dale Marx Factory could produce over 7,000 Big Wheels per day in preparation for the Christmas season.

In November, the Official Marx Toy Museum was contacted by an advertising agency in search of a 1975 Big Wheel to be used for a Lexus Car commercial.  The commercial has been airing for two weeks and is just one of several Lexus commercials comparing memorable childhood Christmas gifts to that of a new Lexus.

The Marx Big Wheel has been retired and is again on display at the Marx Toy Museum!!!  The museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm through December 31st.  The museum will close for the winter season and reopen in April.

For more information, visit the Marx Toy Museum website at www.MarxToyMuseum.com or call (304) 845-6022.  The Marx website will have a link to the Big Wheel commercial.

At this time, the Big Wheel Commercial was pulled from YouTube, but remembered by many!!!
