QUESTIONS about VALUE - Please Read Before Emailing!!!
So many times we receive questions regarding the value of an item.  Realize that the price of toys depends on many factors...completeness, box condition, toy condition, etc.  It is very difficult to price an item without actually seeing it in person (and even more difficult without even a photo).
Our policy is to NOT address questions regarding value...

So How Can You Determine Value
The only way to determine the "current" value of an item is to see that item "currently" sell.  When the museum gets a new item (Marx or non-Marx) and we want to get an estimate of its value, we look for similar items which may have recently sold.  A great source is Ebay.

If you would still like to email the museum a request for a "ball park" estimate of value, please email the Marx Toy Museum any details about the piece AND a digital photo of the toy
We will do our best to give you an estimated value based on our experiences!!!

QUESTIONS about Specific MARX TOYS

Please Read Before Emailing!!!

The Official Marx Toy Museum receives dozens of emails each day requesting information, parts lists, years of production, photos to be taken, restoration, and value questions.  At this time, we are unable to address these questions to the extent which we would like to...but we do try!!!

The information we may respond with is limited to our own personal experiences, as the actual Marx company files, those few which actually exist, and even fewer which are in our possession, are certainly very difficult to sort through in any reasonable amount of time and often time, very limited in the information which they provide.

Keep in mind, these are TOYS from the 1930's through the 1970's.  In most cases, a Marx toy was produced for several years.  A vision inspection of the toys can certainly help determine the decade of production and sometimes estimate the production date to within a few years, but without accessing the original records or catalogs it is quite difficult to determine the year of production or how many were produced.

Unfortunately there is not a complete reference available on all Marx toys, however there are some excellent references on some of the metal toys, trains, playsets, and action figures:

Greenberg's Guide to Marx Toys Volume I
Greenberg's Guide to Marx Toys Volume II
Greenberg's Guide to Marx Trains
Marx Toy Sampler
Encyclopedia of Marx Action Figures
Playset Magazine - Great for Playset Questions - www.PlaysetMagazine.com
It would be impossible to be familiar with every Marx Toy ever made, and we would never claim such superior knowledge.  If you have a question on a specific Marx Toy, please email, but remember information on many of the Marx toys is very limited.

As a result, when you email the museum about a piece, please ask the questions that you would like to be answered...not just a simple request for information.  We will do our best to answer what we can!!!

Questions About Trains
My personal experiences in collecting Marx trains has been very limited.  Any questions you might have regarding trains would best be directed to a train collector or collector of Marx trains.

Our CONNECTION to the ORIGINAL MARX COMPANY
Remember, The Official Marx Toy Museum is owned and operated by a private collector with
no associations with the original Marx company and their endless amounts of information.  But as I said, we have always and will continue to do our best to answer your questions based on our experience and limited information.
